Capital Pride 2021 will take place from Sunday, August 22 through Sunday, August 29. This year’s festival will feature both in-person and virtual events, with appearances by several City departments.

To kick off Capital Pride, the City will hold a flag-raising and proclamation ceremony on Monday, August 23 at noon, at City Hall, 110 Laurier Avenue West. We’ll also raise the Pride flag at the following locations for the week:

  • Mary Pitt building, 100 Constellation Drive
  • OC Transpo Headquarters, 1500 St. Laurent Boulevard
  • Ottawa Police Service headquarters, 474 Elgin Street
  • Ottawa Paramedic Service Headquarters, 2465 Don Reid Drive
  • Ottawa Fire Services headquarters, 1443 Carling Avenue

There will be an Indigiqueer and Two-Spirit led remembrance on Monday, August 23 at 8 pm at the Human Rights Monument.

You can attend the flag-raising and vigil in person or virtually by visiting the Capital Pride website and social media.

The City will also be showing its pride and support for Ottawa’s 2SLGBTQQIA+ community with several departments participating in the virtual Pride parade on Sunday, August 29 at 2 pm. Watch the parade and find more event information on the Capital Pride website.
